The Journey of a Music Producer: Overcoming Challenges and Finding Success
Believing in Possibilities
Have you ever thought that the music industry is too crowded and there's no chance of making a living as a music producer? Well, let me tell you a story that will inspire you and prove that success is still possible.
A Passion for Beats
It all started when the creator of this video was just 14 years old. He had a burning desire to create his own beats for his rap songs. Music production became his obsession, but unfortunately, his grades suffered because of it.
Early Success
Despite the challenges, he began to see some success. He started selling his beats online and one particular beat called "Elevated" brought in around $1,000 to $2,000 every month. He also started sharing his own type beats on YouTube, earning a few hundred dollars monthly.
A Game-Changing Encounter
Everything changed when he met a producer named Dilly Got Bumpin. This encounter opened his eyes to the potential of making money by selling beats on a platform called Beatstars. Inspired by this newfound knowledge, he set his sights on reaching that level of success.
Collaborations and Growth
He began sending out loops to collaborate with bigger producers, and this led to him making three to five collaborations every day. As a result, he started earning thousands of dollars each month. Additionally, he founded his own company called Loop Stash, selling sound kits. Initially, it made around $1,000 a month, but eventually grew to an impressive $10,000 a month.
Ups and Downs
However, life isn't always smooth sailing. The creator made some mistakes along the way. He decided to move to Hawaii, but this decision caused his income to decline, which brought him a lot of stress. He realized that he had tied his identity to his income, and if he didn't make a certain amount, he felt like a fraud. To make matters worse, he hadn't considered taxes and was hit with a large tax bill that wiped out his savings.
Learning and Growing
Despite these challenges, he learned some valuable lessons. He understood the importance of finding sustainable ways to maintain his income, rather than relying solely on the market or other producers. He also realized the significance of managing taxes properly. Although he had to start over financially, he is grateful for the lessons he learned and is determined to continue his success as a music producer.
