UMG's Decision
Hey there! So, guess what? Universal Music Group (UMG) just took down all their music from TikTok! That means artists like Drake, Taylor Swift, Post Malone, Kanye West, and BTS no longer have their songs on this super popular social media app. And get this, UMG didn't even ask their artists before making this big decision. Can you believe it?
Why Did UMG Do This?
Well, UMG says it's because they couldn't agree with TikTok on how much money they should get for their music. You see, TikTok wanted to pay UMG and the artists less money compared to other social media platforms. UMG thinks that's not fair and it doesn't show how valuable music really is. But here's the thing, UMG has been criticized before for not paying artists enough on other streaming platforms. So maybe they're just mad that music is already being undervalued.

TikTok's Response
TikTok, on the other hand, is not happy about UMG's decision. They released a statement saying they're disappointed and they think TikTok is a great way for artists to reach a lot of people and promote their music. They're basically saying, "Hey UMG, why are you taking away this awesome opportunity for artists?"
